Covenant Update
Dear Covenant Church Family:
Today was a great day at Covenant Church, with 35 folks in attendance. We had both a number of praise requests and prayer requests today.
I will begin with the praise requests. Helen Ann spoke with Carolyn Vlacos this week, and found out that she is happy and well settled now in her daughter’s home in Augusta, GA. Carolyn of course misses Mack, but is happy and settled in Augusta. Maurita McKee had a praise for her children and family members who recently held a 75th Anniversary Dinner for she and Vernon at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille. Noah Wilbanks had a praise for the recent FCA Kickoff Meeting for over 600 athletes from local high schools, where over 100 committed their lives to Jesus Christ. Tina Pinkoson had praise for the Morgan major plumbing renovations to their home that should be completed tomorrow.
I begin prayer requests with a prayer request from Shaw Grigsby for the Fred Pearson family, as Fred is now close to death. A friend of Pastor Don’s, named Wayne, who visits our church occasionally, asked for prayers for an uncle who is dealing with blood cancer. Michelle Miller asked for prayers for her father who is recovering from a medical procedure. Rose Morgan asked for prayers for our country given the recent assassination of Charlie Kirk, and also for the political arguments that have ensued the past 2 weeks between our political parties.
Pastor Don had a speaking commitment this morning that conflicted with our church time, so he was unable to give our sermon today. We had Noah Wilbanks, the local FCA leader, provide our message, and he also brought with him one of his high school leaders of FCA also share his testimony with us. The student was outstanding in the 10-minute story he shared with us about his testimony, and Noah also did a good job of sharing God’s Word! We did not tape today’s message, so it is not available online.
The music Tina chose for today’s service coincided perfectly with the messages both Noah and his student shared. It is amazing how God works many times to coordinate the music and sermon. May God bless your upcoming week.
