Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Church Family:

Today we had a great service at Covenant.  We had about 40 folks attend our church service today, and about five more join us for lunch afterwards.  Thanks to Michelle Miller, Becky Alexander, Bill Mercado, and Michelle’s Aunt Pat who all helped to set up and decorate the church in its July 4th  theme.  We also offer special thanks to Lee Pinkoson for BBQing the ribs and chicken for our great lunch.  Also, thanks to all our members for bringing their side dishes and desserts for everyone to enjoy.  It was a great morning at Covenant Church today!

Please note that two weeks from today, July 12, we will have a brief memorial service at 11:30 AM to celebrate the lives of both Madge and Francis Bush.  We hope all who knew Madge or Francis will be able to attend this service.

We had a number of prayer requests and praise reports today.  Rose Morgan asked for prayers for her brother Lee who is having surgery tomorrow.  Larry Noegel asked for prayers for a friend who will be going to Oak Hammock for rehabilitation.  Brenda Dolwick asked for prayers for her husband Frank who is having a medical procedure tomorrow.  Becky Alexander asked for prayers for her husband Craig who just returned from visiting his mother in a VA hospital, where she has now been hospitalized for 15 days.  He will return to be with her again tomorrow.  JoAn Mason asked for prayers for a friend fighting bladder cancer.  Maurita McKee had a praise for a plumber who came to her home yesterday while she was making her potato salad for today; she had an issue with her garbage disposal and he was able to repair it so she could finish her potato salad.

Pastor Don did a sermon on the 4th of July for those who believe in country and God.  He focused his sermon on this scripture:

Psalm 33:12 – Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people for whom He has chosen for His own inheritance.

Don suggested we grew and prospered as a nation.  He said that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.  Unfortunately, we were not able to tape today’s message, so it will not be available online.

After our service ended, we enjoyed a great lunch and fellowship with each other.  It was truly a great day at Covenant today!

May you all have a very blessed week!

Ron
