Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Church Family:

Today was a great day at Covenant, with 30 folks in attendance.  Please remember that Covenant will celebrate July 4 immediately after our church service on Sunday, June 28.  Covenant will provide barbecued chicken and ribs, and drinks.  Attendees are asked to bring side dishes and desserts to share with others.  Also, please dress in your favorite July 4th outfit to show your patriotism for the USA!

Frank Dolwick also announced that we will have a short memorial service for Madge and Francis Bush immediately after church on Sunday, July 12.  Madge and Francis were loyal members of Covenant Church for many years.

We had a number of prayer requests and praise reports today.  It was great to see Larry Noegel back in church today, and Pastor Don said we hope he will also be able to bring Helen Ann back with him soon.  Frank Dolwick introduced two visitors he and Brenda brought to church today, from Los Mochis, Brazil.  Covenant Church was involved in a ministry in Los Mochis the last time Pastor Don also served as our Pastor.  Pastor Don asked for prayers for Missy, who just returned home from a mission trip to Bolivia, and was ill today.  Tina Pinkoson asked for continued prayers for a friend Dale Edge, who was in a serious motorcycle accident last week, and then was also run over by a car.  The praise report is that he was now out of his induced coma and in ICU, and now faces surgery to repair his numerous broken bones.  Diane Mauldin gave a praise for her cousin Cindy who had major heart surgery last week; her surgery went well and she is now recovering, but still has arm issues to deal with.  Larry Noegel asked for prayers for a friend who has had low blood pressure for awhile now, and the doctors are having a difficult time diagnosing the reason.  Karen Schuster had an unspoken request.  Becky  Alexander had a praise report that her latest CT scan was stable, and she is hoping that she will be cleared to return to work within 3 months.  Craig Alexander asked for prayers for his mother who was traveling with his sister in Virginia and was taken ill.  Michelle Miller had a praise report for a past member, Christy Caton, who just gave birth to a baby, also has a 3-year-old, and will now be moving to VA with her husband.

Pastor Don had another good sermon today based on Isaiah 46:3-10.  Pastor Don said that although we change and evolve throughout our lifetime, God is unchanging, He is the same our entire life.  If you would like to listen to this sermon, all recorded sermons can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose today’s message.

I wish all of you a most blessed week.

Ron
