Dear Covenant Family:
Today was a great day at Covenant Church with 26 folks in attendance. Attached for your interest is today’s bulletin, note that next Sunday we will have Communion.
Pastor Don began our prayer requests with an update on Carolyn and Mack Vlacos. Carolyn is out of the hospital and doing much better, however, Mack is still dealing with a number of health issues. It looks like Mack and Carolyn will move to Augusta GA to live with their daughter there as soon as they are cleared by Shands Hospital to move, it is unlikely they will leave this week, but expect it to occur in early April. If anyone would like to visit Mack and Carolyn before they move, please feel free to call them and arrange a time to visit. Tina Pinkoson asked for prayers for a co-worker of hers whose 19-year-old son died recently. Patsy Baker asked for prayers for her grandson. Becky Alexander said that she and Craig are going to the Moffitt Cancer Hospital at USF in Tampa for an initial appointment there to see if they might perform her kidney cancer surgery. She will also have an MRI on April 1 to confirm her diagnosis. Helen Ann Noegel asked for prayers for her son who is on a 2-week business trip to Ireland. Finally, Joe Morgan gave a praise for Pastor Don who brought doughnuts and cold drinks to celebrate our Sing Along service at church today.
Our service today included a Sing Along rather than a sermon by Pastor Don. For the past few weeks, church members gave Tina their favorite Christian songs. She tabulated the results and today we sang the top 12 songs that were offered. This included the songs we sang together throughout the service, the Special Music offered by the Ensemble, 7 songs during the sermon time, and then a final Hymn of Benediction. The most requested song was It is Well With My Soul. We did tape our musical sermon today, and will place it on our website for anyone who would like to hear the songs. If you would like to listen to this sermon, all recorded sermons can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose today’s message.
I wish each of you a most blessed week!
Ron
