Dear Covenant Family:
Yesterday was a great Advent service. We had 18 attendees in church. Below is a picture of our beautiful sanctuary as it is decorated for Christmas. Note the Advent wreath next to Carl. That is a beautiful and significant contribution to our Advent services. Thanks to Carl and Shirley for that generous donation from them last year in memory of Shirley’s father. Also attached is the bulletin from yesterday’s service.
Covenant has two ministries for December. Our local mission is the Helping Hands Clinic and our global mission is the Costas Family ministry in Brazil. The Costas family are close friends of Carl and Shirley who visited our church in December 2019. After their visit, we decided to support them. If you wish your donation to go to one of these specific ministries, please just denote that on your check.
Also, Saturday December 5 was Madge and Francis’ 62nd wedding anniversary. Since they couldn’t be with us at Covenant, we called them and sang Happy Anniversary to them. That was a highlight of the service for all of us. If you haven’t wished them a happy anniversary yet, you can still do so!!!!
We also held our church meeting after church yesterday. 16 members attended the meeting, and four additional members sent their votes to me to include in the voting process. Both the budget and Joe’s re-election to the Trustees and service as Treasurer were approved by unanimous vote, and we thank everyone who participated in that process.
We also decided yesterday in church to hold a Christmas Eve service, time to be set in late afternoon or early evening.
