Dear Covenant Family:
Today was a great day at Covenant, with 38 folks in attendance. Attached is today’s bulletin with current Covenant news for you. Please note that we will have a Christmas Eve service at 5 PM, so anyone who would like to attend a Christmas service will still have plenty of time on Christmas Eve to spend with their families after church.
We have a number of prayer requests this week. Pastor Don noted that Mack Vlacos was in the hospital again this week, but is now home. Nancy Parke asked for prayers for her neighbor who she knows as Johnny, he asked her as he saw her leaving for church this morning. Michelle Miller had two prayer requests – her boss’s granddaughter had heart surgery this past week, and her friend Ellen also had uterine surgery this past week. A neighbor of Patsy Sutton had a stroke this week, and he is also the caretaker for his wife, so things are very difficult for them right now. Larry Noegel informed us that an old long-time Gainesville resident Tom Panisi, who used to own a burger shop in Gainesville, died this week. Craig Alexander asked for continued prayers for his mother who is still dealing with serious health issues. Ron Marks had a prayer request for Pastor Don and Diane who will be traveling to Alabama this week to provide support for Don’s sister who is suffering serious health issues right now. Becky Alexander had a praise request this week that her father Bill Mercado had a very good report from his doctor regarding his latest MRI, so things are looking much better for his recovery.
Today, Pastor Don was given the day off as the Covenant Ensemble provided our message through their music titled The Colors of Christmas. It was an excellent musical message and it should hopefully be up on our website later this week. If you would like to listen to this musical message, all recorded sermons can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose today’s message.
As we approach Christmas Day, may you all have a most blessed time with your family, friends, and all loved ones! May God bless your holiday season!
Ron
