Dear Covenant Family:
Yesterday was another great Advent service. We had 22 attendees in church. Last week I provided a picture of our church decorated for Christmas. Although it illustrated much of the church’s beauty at Christmas time, it was not inclusive of all the Christmas decorations. So below is a picture of the rest of the church with additional decorations. Note the beautiful nativity scene that we have had up previous Christmas’ loaned to us by Victoria and Paul McArthur. After last Christmas, Victoria and Paul generously donated the nativity scene to Covenant Church, we thank them so much for that beautiful permanent addition to our Christmas look! We have left it up the entire year, and we also thank Craig and Becky Alexander for the live poinsettias that they donated to be placed with the nativity scene to highlight it even more. Carl mentioned in church yesterday that the nativity scene was left up all of last year, and he intends to leave it up again this next year to illustrate that the Wise Men took 2 years to reach the stable where Jesus lay
Note again the Advent wreath next to Carl, I need to make a correction in that Carl and Shirley dedicated their generous contribution to both sets of their parents, I apologize for my error last week. Covenant has been so blessed by both of these beautiful additions to our Christmas services.
Covenant has two ministries for December. Our local mission is the Helping Hands Clinic and our global mission is the Costas Family ministry in Brazil. The Costas family are close friends of Carl and Shirley who visited our church in December 2019. After their visit, we decided to support them. If you wish your donation to go to one of these specific ministries, please just denote that on your check.
Please note that the Christmas Eve service will be held at 4 PM and include Communion. The service will be completed in time that everyone can return home before it gets dark. Also attached is the bulletin from yesterday’s service.
May God continue to bless Covenant Church!
Ron
