Dear Covenant Family:
Today we had a good service at Covenant, with 31 folks in attendance. Don’s sermon was titled It’s Not Easy and his scripture was 2 Thessalonians 3:6-16. The scripture is provided in the bulletin, which is attached for you. Don’s message followed the scripture and warned us about associating with people who are lazy and disruptive. We know how we should live our lives, and we need to work accordingly and never tire of helping others and doing what is right.
The good news for our Prayer List is that Edwina has returned home to complete her recovery from the problem that began quite awhile ago. The news with Madge is not good as she is definitely in Hospice now. She is receiving cards and letters at:
Madge Bush
2317 Bristol Road
Albany, GA 31721
Please keep Madge and Francis in your prayers.
This month our ministry is hurricane relief and we will send our contribution to the Florida Baptist Convention for which 100% of our donation will go to people directly affected by Hurricane Ida which recently hit in Louisiana and caused major problems throughout its journey up into the northeast US.
Finally, Covenant Church provided a dinner for the family of Counts Booth after his funeral service last Saturday, September 18. Note that in the future, it would be helpful to have a list of members who could be called on to bring food to the church for such meals. If you would be willing to assist with this activity in the future, please sign up on the tablet on the table next to Joe’s seat at church. Please provide your name, phone number, and preferred dish to bring. Let us continue the Covenant tradition of being there for our member families in their time of need, and to provide food when needed as part of our member support.
May God bless this coming week for everyone at Covenant!
Ron
