Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Family:

Today was another great day at Covenant.  We had 38 folks in attendance.  Attached is the bulletin for today’s service.

Pastor Don’s sermon was titled Don’t Worry and his scripture was Psalms 37:1-11.

Psalms 37:1-11 – Do not get upset because of evildoers, do not be envious of wrongdoers.  For they will wither quickly like the grass, And decay like the green plants.  Trust in the Lord and do good; live in the land and cultivate faithfulness.  Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him, and He will do it.  He will bring out your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.  Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not get upset because of one who is successful in his way, because of the person who carries out wicked schemes.  Cease from anger and abandon wrath; do not get upset; it leads only to evildoing.  For evildoers will be eliminated, but those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land.  10 Yet a little while and the wicked person will be no more; and you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there.  11 But the humble will inherit the land and will delight themselves in abundant prosperity.

Pastor Don told us the world constantly has its share of evil.  Our focus should be to not worry about anything, but pray about everything.  We need to focus on what God says so we can make it with all the evil going on around us.  Verse two tells us the bad will go away in time.  Verse three tells us to focus our trust in the Lord, worry won’t change anything, so we should happily share what we have with others to make a difference.  Verse four tells us to remember all the good things the Lord has provided us, be patient and you will be rewarded.  The bottom line is to trust God and follow His Word to achieve true happiness in life and your just reward.

May you all have a very blessed week!
