Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Family:

We had a great service at Covenant today, with 32 people attending our service.  Attached is a copy of today’s bulletin, please check out the A Few More Words of Wisdom provided by Tina.

Note that we had a number of Prayer requests and Praise requests.  The Praise requests were led by welcoming Joe and Rose Morgan back to church.  They were out the past two seeks as Joe recovered from a heart attack and Rose recovered from COVID that she got from sitting in the ER for 22 hours with Joe waiting for him to get a room.  Edwina also had a Praise for her nephew who is serving with the Peach Corps in Africa and very happy that he has been stationed close to a beach, as he grew up in St. Augustine.  JoAnn Mills also had a Praise that Beth Armstrong and her sisters were able to get support to move her mother into assisted living as they felt was needed for their mother.

Victoria McArthur had a Prayer request for her and another woman whom she spoke with this week and the other woman was quite disagreeable and upset with her, Victoria asked for prayers for herself and the other woman.  Shaw Grigsby asked for prayers for a friend of his who was hospitalized with a diabetic ulcer.  Becky Alexander asked for prayers for a co-worker who is unable to work right now due to the death of his son who recently died of a drug overdose.  Michelle Miller also reminded everyone that a tropical storm or hurricane may be heading toward Gainesville and could hit here this Wednesday, she wanted to make sure everyone took appropriate precautions. 

Pastor Don had another excellent sermon today.  His sermon was based on scripture from John 2:1-10.  He began by reading the scripture, and then his sermon was about how so many bad things happen in our communities every day, and the reason is that God has not been invited by many people into their lives.  He discussed how we need God to be present in our lives so that we will know His will for us.  Pastor Don also made the point that when people invite God into their lives they will receive much more from God than what they expected.
