Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Family:

We had a large turnout at today’s service, we had 37 folks in attendance.  Attached is today’s bulletin.  Pay attention to the message Tina added titled Think Before Reacting, it is food for thought for all of us!

We had the following prayer requests today.  Beth Armstrong and her sisters are trying to get their parents to move here so the sisters can provide more care as it is needed.  Frank Dolwick asked for prayers for one of his Fellows who has a father very close to death.  Edwina Hope asked for prayers for a cousin who is in Hospice.  Mack Vlacos requested prayers for his brother and brother-in-law.  Victoria McArthur had an unspoken request.  Helen Ann Noegel asked for prayers for the family of a good friend since high school who died yesterday.

Dash, a young friend who comes to church with Mack and Carolyn Vlacos, asked for prayers for a friend who has cancer.

We also had a number of praise reports today.  Michelle raised three praises – she had successful kidney stone removal last week, her daughter Lindsay is pregnant with her first child, and FCA is sponsoring an event this week that will bring over 700 football players and coaches together which is expected to bring many new believers to God.  Sam Parker had  praise that he received a good report this week on his heart function.  Ron Marks gave a praise for Tina’s 29th anniversary of leading our music program at Covenant, and the church gave her a dozen red roses as appreciation for her consistent and strong leadership.

Pastor Don’s sermon today was titled A Terrible Waste and his scripture was Genesis 19:16 and Genesis 13:1-16.  He tells the story of Lot and Abram who took different paths when they received gifts from their father.  He compared that to decisions we make in our lives that we may later in life regret.  Pastor Don said that we should always choose the right path instead of the easiest path.   If you missed church today, I encourage you to listen to Pastor Don’s sermon at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose the sermon you want to hear.

Cindy and I will be gone the next two weeks on our annal family vacation to Hilton Head, so I will be unable to send any messages.  I will start up again as soon as we return.

I wish everyone a very blessed week this coming week.

Ron
