Covenant Update
Dear Covenant Family:
Today was a great start to Don Mauldin’s leadership at Covenant Church, with 31 folks in attendance. Don gave a great sermon on Talking Power and supported it with 4 excellent verses of scripture. If you weren’t in church today, I challenge you to read those scripture verses and see how God used talking power in them. Attached is today’s church bulletin, please read Tina’s Words of Wisdom for the day.
Our list of members with health issues continues to grow. Continue to pray for Edwina as she is still struggling to recover from her infection, although the good news is her surgery earlier this week was successful. We had no further follow up on Beverly and Larry Wurts since the email sent out earlier this week. Hopefully, Beverly has gone home but Larry will likely remain in rehab for some time yet. We then also learned that Virginia Phillips broke her arm this week and is delayed in being able to see an orthopedic surgeon. If you would like to send Virginia a note, her address is:

This Wednesday we will feed about 40 police officers from the Gainesville and University police departments at their shift change at 4 PM. The meal and side dishes will be provided by others. Covenant will host the meal in our sanctuary. We will meet to set up the church at 3 PM. Covenant will also provide the desserts for the police officers. If you would like to donate a dessert, please have it at church by 3:30 PM Wednesday. If you would like to help serve the meal, please arrive by 3:30 PM.
Please remember that COVID has picked up recently nationally and also locally so if you are uncomfortable coming to participate in this event, that is understandable. We don’t need many people to do the work, the invitation is mainly if you wanted to thank the police for all they do to keep our community safe. Remember Don’s sermon today on Talking Power, and make your voices known to the police by sending a note of appreciation to them if you cannot attend!!!
