Covenant Update

Dear Covenant Family:

Today was a great day at Covenant, with 31 folks in attendance at our service.  Attached is today’s bulletin with information on our ministries for July.  Also note the cute notes from kids in Letters to the Pastor.  Also, remember that next Sunday is the 5th Sunday in July so Communion will be served at Covenant, so come if you can.

Prayers are asked to continue for the Grigsby family as Shaw had his mother go home to God this week.  Missy Mauldin asked for prayers for students, teachers, and all involved in schools reopening soon.  Michelle Miller asked for prayers as she will have some kidney stones removed tomorrow.  Edwina Hope also asked for prayers for her grandson who has completed his training for the Peace Corps in Africa and has now been assigned to the village where he will be assigned to serve the people there.

Pastor Don’s sermon was on what it feels like to be trapped.  His scripture was based on the well known scripture from Exodus 14:10 – As Pharaoh approached, the sons of Israel looked, and behold, the Egyptians were coming after them, and they became very frightened; so the sons of Israel cried out to the Lord.  Pastor Don compared their situation to one we face in our own lives today.  If you missed church today, I encourage you to listen to Pastor Don’s sermon at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/ and then choose Sermons on the home page, and then choose the sermon you want to hear.

I wish all of you a very blessed week.

Ron
