Dear Covenant Family:
We had a great service at Covenant today, with 30 folks in attendance. Pastor Don and Diane were out of town today celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary, so Noah Wilbanks, local head of Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), provided our sermon today. Attached is today’s bulletin, please note that this month’s ministry is the local FCA. This group brings many high school and college athletes to Jesus so their work is very important in today’s world. Also note the numerous Father’s Day quotes that Tina included in the bulletin.
A prayer request was asked for Bill Mercado’s brother, who is still hospitalized in a NYC hospital and near death. Bill was blessed this week to travel to NYC to visit with his brother. Larry Noegel asked for prayers for the family friend Sam Schumacher who died this week in Gainesville. Carol Parker asked for prayers for the family of Bill Sanderson who also died this week in Gainesville. Helen Ann Noegel asked for prayers for a friend who is having surgery this week to remove some organs that are suspected to possibly have cancer. Edwina Hope asked for continued prayers for her grandson serving in the Peace Corps in Africa. Finally, a praise was asked for Don and Diane celebrating another anniversary and traveling mercies for them while they are out of town.
Noah Wilbanks’ sermon will be available on our website this week for anyone who would like to hear it. It can be accessed at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/, then click on Sermons, and choose Noah’s sermon.
Note that we have ordered some additional Holy Moments books and they arrived this week. Quite a few were taken by members today after church, and there are still some available. This is probably the last batch we will order so please feel free to take any that still remain next Sunday. Little Covenant Church will have distributed about 100 of these books in support of God’s work, so we can be proud of that effort.
Also, note that two weeks from today, our Sunday service will be on July 2. Please note that the church will be set up that morning for lunch which we will serve immediately after the church service. We will serve a July 4 barbeque luncheon of hamburgers, hot dogs, associated sides, and drinks. Also, desserts will be provided by the church, so no one needs to bring anything except yourself, and any family and friends that you want to bring with you – we will have plenty of food! Please dress very casually to be very comfortable for the celebration.
Cindy and I will be out of town next Sunday for a family wedding, so I will not send out an update next Sunday. May God bless this coming week for you.
Ron
