Dear Covenant Family:
It was an excellent day at Covenant today, with 33 folks in attendance. It was great to have Shaw Grigsby back in church with his daughter and grandson, and it was also great to see Darlene Sanchez as well and see her back in good health. Attached is today’s church bulletin, note that our June ministry will be Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Also, be sure to check out Tina’s beautiful poem in the bulletin titled Freedom Isn’t Free. Also, all the music today was focused on celebrating Memorial Day.
Prayer requests were asked by Shirley Romey for her family with two of Shirley’s cousins going home to heaven in the past 10 days, one of them this morning. Mack Vlacos fell yesterday and hurt his shoulder so keep him in your prayers. Patsy Sutton is also having multiple tests right now, please pray for her as she has another important test this Wednesday. Edwina Hope also asked for prayers for her grandson who is joining the Peace Corps and will be assigned to serving in Zambia, so keep Edwina and her grandson in your prayers. Ron Marks also asked for prayers for a good friend in Gainesville who is hospitalized with serious side effects from his cancer treatment.
Pastor Don’s sermon also focused on Memorial Day and remembering the importance of this day. His scripture for the message was Matthew 16:5-11. His sermon can be heard on the Covenant website at https://gainesvillecovenantchurch.org/, then clicking on Sermons, and choosing today’s sermon.
I wish everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day and a very blessed week!
Ron
