Covenant Update 02/08/2021

Dear Covenant Family:

Covenant set a record yesterday – we had 28 persons in attendance!!!  Our previous high was 22 folks, our typical number in attendance has been usually around 15-18 folks.  So let’s hope that we see some more folks start coming back as they complete their COVID vaccine shots.

Speaking of COVID shots, Vernon and Maurita were there yesterday, it was so good to see them again.  They just completed their COVID vaccine regimen this past week so are now comfortable returning to Sunday services.  Carl and Shirley were also in attendance, it was so good to have them with us as well.  Also, Michelle Miller had 4 family members with her, her parents and newlyweds Lindsay and Collin.  We also have had a new attendee 2 of the last 3 weeks, Virginia Phillips, a friend from the Nazarene Church, and we hope she will continue to worship with us.

Tina provided our sermon and it was terrific, the title was Super Bowl Sunday.  Tina has provided it to me and I will be sending it to you all in a separate email.  The scripture was from Matthew 5:13-16, and it says in verse 16 let your light shine before others, and her focus was on letting our light shine brightly for the world that sees us.

The Trustees would also like to share this message with you:

Dear Covenant members:

After Joyce McCallum’s death, a few of her friends made financial contributions to Covenant in her memory.  So Carl suggested and the Trustees agreed that a bed of Knock Out Roses planted in a prominent place on church property would be a nice memorial for her.  So our plan is to plant such a bed in the spring with whatever funds are donated for this purpose.  If any Covenant members would like to make a contribution to this memorial for Joyce, please place your contribution in the offering plate and note Joyce Memorial on the check or with the cash gift.  We will update you on final plans for the memorial once we see how much has much money has been donated and the final location is determined.  If you have any suggestions regarding placement of the bed, please tell any Trustee your thoughts.  May God continue to bless Covenant Church!

Finally, the bulletin from yesterday’s service is attached.  Wishing you all a great week, and looking forward to seeing who next completes their COVID vaccine regimen next Sunday!!
