Dear Covenant Family:
The Trustees have been talking with Carl lately about his health issues and its impact on his ability to meet the church needs as our senior Pastor. To that end, Carl and the Trustees have agreed that Carl will take a leave of absence from his duties for the month of February. That will give Carl an opportunity to rest as needed and to determine at what level of commitment he can continue to support our Covenant flock. The Trustees were clear with Carl that everyone at Covenant loves him dearly and want to see him continue to lead us as long as he can and wishes to. We told Carl that we hope he and Shirley can attend church during February to feel the warmth and love for them at Covenant, and that Carl has been able to show others these past 3 years since he joined us.
However, for each of us, there comes a time where we need to slow down and cut back on our activities. So the Trustees plan is to work with Carl and communicate openly to determine what Carl is able to do and also what he wants to do going forward in his service to God through Covenant Church. We ask all of our church members and friends to continue to pray for Carl and Shirley and Covenant Church that we may be able to continue serving God according to His Will for each of us!!!
For the month of February, Tina and Ron will continue to lead the Sunday services as we have for the past few months and we will bring in different folks to provide the Sunday sermon. This Sunday, Tina will provide our sermon. We will continue to provide you weekly updates through email and snail mail to update you on our plans and to inform you of each Sunday speaker of His Word.
