Cindy and I have just returned from a 2-week visit with our children, and more importantly, our four wonderful granddaughters! Given my new focus on finding joy in my daily activities, I figured what better summary to share with you than my joyful experiences with my four granddaughters, and also two wonderful children and in-law children. So here goes:
JOY is safe and timely travel to DC, and spending the first evening with Shelli’s family,
JOY is putting Pepi to sleep while babysitting her, having her fall asleep in about 2 minutes on my shoulder,
JOY is having baby Emma born healthy to dear friends and family,
JOY was completing needed yardwork for both families,
JOY was learning that both Harper and Gentry were enjoying middle school,
JOY was walking Pepi to school 4 days while she used her scooter, and would actually race me to see how far ahead she could get,
JOY was Cindy and I taking Pepi to breakfast at a great restaurant named Bread and Chocolates,
JOY was watching Greer having a great softball practice and game, and being excited for both,
JOY was having a great birthday celebration for Shelli,
JOY was walking Shelli’s family dog Gus multiple times a day,
JOY was treating Pepi to ice cream after school,
JOY was “scootering” Pepi to school one last time,
JOY was watching Gentry’s soccer match,
JOY is attending both church and Sunday School with Bushman family,
JOY is having an all-family gathering at Shelli’s home,
JOY is taking both Bushman girls to school one last time, and
JOY is always returning home safe and sound to Gainesville!
These are experiences I have had on many of our trips to DC, but they are more joyful now that I choose to record them on a daily basis. We all have experiences that we can choose to remember each day of our lives as well. We have so much to be thankful for in our world today, let’s create memories of the things we cherish and can remember always!
