Covenant TGIF Message from Ron
TGIF
Last week, my TGIF message focused on Psalm 30, specifically verse 5. I mentioned that it is one of the most powerful and beautiful verses in all of scripture, written by David. I also asked you to read it because it expresses David’s life path, which I feel can be very similar to the description of our life path. I ask you again today, if you didn’t read it last week, to do so this week. If you did read it last week, I ask you to read it again this week – it is a new and different week and His message to you today may be different than His message was to you a week ago.
Since writing that message, my attention has been held by two other verses from Psalm 30.
Psalm 30:11-12 – You have turned my mourning into dancing for me; You have untied my sackcloth and encircled me with joy, 12 That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
What an inspiring message this is for each of us every day. How often do we get down on ourselves, we feel unworthy, we are ashamed of our sins, and wonder how God can really love us!! Really, you can love me the way that I am????
The reality is that He can, and He does. He is always present to turn my mourning into dancing, to untie my sackcloth and encircle me with joy in Him. All I need to do is open my eyes and ears, and know that He is there, waiting for me to ask Him to come into my heart, to receive Him and tell Him I love Him and will find joy and peace and hope and love in Him and through Him all the remaining days of my life on this earth.
I want to thank two people who do such a wonderful job of bringing this message of joy to you on a regular basis. Tina’s Woo Hoo Wednesday messages are always about joy, she signs off each week with Shine!! Shine!! Shine!!, a recent message began with Shine with joy!!, and another recent message quoted Sarah Young from her April 5 message in Jesus Always:
One way to make this request is to pray: ‘Holy Spirit, think through me, live through me, love through me.’ While His streams of living water are passing through you into the hearts of other people, I fill both them and you with JOY!”
Thank you Tina for all your uplifting messages which focus so much on our finding Joy in Him!!
I also admire Sarah Young so much for her superb writings and regular messages for us in finding joy. Here are just a few of her recent offerings from Jesus Always.
April 3 – Look up to Me, beloved, for My Face is shining upon you. Be awed by the glory of My holiness, and let the Light of my Love soak into your inner being.
April 5 – I want you to draw water from the wells of salvation with Joy! Knowing that I have saved you forever from your sins can be a well-spring of Joy in your daily life.
April 13 – Seek to include Me in more of your moments by living in joyful dependence on Me. I am with you, watching over you continually.
April 16 – This is the day that I have made. I invite you to rejoice in this day as you share it with Me. The more of Me you have in your life, the more joyful you will be.
May we all continue to live our lives filled with the hope, peace, joy, and love that He offers to us constantly and asks that we share it with all of those around us – all day, every day!!
