Covenant TGIF Message from Ron

About two weeks ago, I read a message from October 30 in my Max Lucado daily devotional Grace For The Moment that I knew I wanted to share with you, but the question was when was the right time.  I then came across a second topic this week, and I decided these two topics fit together perfectly for this week’s message.  So let me begin with Max’s October 30 devotional titled Love Is All You’ll Find.  As usual, Max began with scripture:

1 John 4:16 – We know the love that God has for us, and we trust that love.

Max then shares Water must be wet.  A fire must be hot.  You can’t take the wet out of water and still have water.  You can’t take the heat out of fire and still have fire.  In the same way, you can’t take the love out of God … and still have Him exist.  For He was … and is … Love.

Probe deep within Him.  Explore every corner.  Search every angle.  Love is all you find.  Go to the beginning of every decision He has made and you’ll find it.  Go to the end of every story He has told and you’ll see it.  Love.  No bitterness.  No evil.  No cruelty. Just love.  Flawless love.  Passionate love.  Vast and pure love.  He is love.

Then the TGIF message I shared with you on September 26 focused on the story of Charlie Kirk and the Turning Point USA (TPUSA) organization that he founded in 2012.  I spoke of the large growth that had occurred in TPUSA since 2012 and the huge number of requests for new memberships at colleges and also high schools throughout the US and even abroad since his assassination.  It seems that Charlie’s life, and then his death, kicked off a large new energy to learn more about him and TPUSA.  There have been a number of very highly attended events at numerous colleges across our country after his death that document continued interest.

I will also share with you that I have been hoping and praying that we would have a true Christian revival throughout our country ever since we had a number of events that could count as “revivals” occurred in our country over the past 3-4 years – remember Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills who had a heart attack during his game and many prayers were said for him on national TV, the Super Bowl Christian ads that year, and the Asbury revival that lasted a few weeks and ended up in Rupp Arena to handle the crowds?

Then, this week I learned of another new group similar to TPUSA also trying to make inroads with college students.  That group is named the UniteUS Movement, which began in 2023 in Auburn AL.  Their website can be found at https://www.uniteusmovement.com/, if anyone would like to learn more about them.  They were on the news on November 7, 2025 for hosting an event at the University of Cincinnati that drew about 5,500 college age students “with thousands making first-time decisions or rededicating their lives, and some 2,000 connected to local churches and ministries, event organizers said.”

So how do these recent news events and my prayers for a true Christian revival in our country relate to the Max Lucado story of love at the beginning of this message.  That connection is easy because to find and feel love, we need to live love as an integral part of our lives.  That connection seems to become more difficult each day as we observe so much hate and anger throughout our country and world, as we fail to love those around us.

I am hoping and praying that groups like TPUSA, UniteUS and FCA can continue to provide the needed debate to turn this country around from its current path of destruction which is certain to happen if we lose the love in our lives.  Let us hope that organizations like Samaritan’s Purse led by Franklin Graham, and other national and global ministries can begin to provide the needed love to all those people in need around the world.

Our country and the world cannot afford to lose, or choose to give up, love in our individual lives, and in our collective lives.  I pray that the people who receive this message will choose to follow John 15:12!

John 15:12 – This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

I pray that our Christian community will lead us to a world of love!
