Covenant TGIF Message from Ron

TGIF

How is your Godly perspective today?  Is it strong and unwavering?  Are you laser focused on your commitment to God?  Or might it be a little less clear or focused?  Is your mind wandering a bit today?

Because we are human, there is no doubt our minds can tend to wander a bit from time to time, especially when events surrounding us are especially worrisome.  Sometimes worry can drive us to become even more focused on God, when our minds are focused on Him being the only true answer to all our needs.  Other times, we may tend to forget God as our solution and believe we need to focus on how we can solve our own problems.

The reality is that God is our only hope whatever our problem-de-jour may be, the reality is that we need His input and consideration in getting through any and all of the issues that we experience throughout our lives.

In Tim Tebow’s new book titled One-Year Devotional: Mission Possible, Tim offers a prayer for perspective (on September 7) that I thought was awesome.  Tim shared the following:

Lord, let me see people like You do.  Let me love people like You do.  Let me listen to people like You do.  Help me step outside myself – my worries, my concerns, my comfort zone, my world – and let me view life from your perspective, for Your ways are established, far greater than any of my plans.  Whatever You do lasts forever.  Nothing can be added to it, nor can anything be taken from it.  Forgive me for doubting Your purposes, making assumptions, and jumping to conclusions too quickly.  I can get so locked in on what I think is important that I miss out on what you’re doing in and through my life.  As a citizen of heaven, may I work hard today, wherever I am, for the glory of God.  You are the only audience I should strive to please.  …  Keep me rooted and grounded in your love.  In Jesus’s name.  Amen.

Please continue to pray to God for all the people in the Middle East and throughout the world who have been impacted by the horrific events of the past week in Israel and who will continue to feel that impact for a long time.  Pray for our world that we can find our way back to God, and may each of us live a life of Godliness every day that others may see God through you.
