Finally, here is last week’s TGIF message. I am sorry it is late.
TGIF
An acronym is a word formed from the initial letters or elements of several words in the same name – such as Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). An acrostic is different than an acronym and instead uses the first letters of words to create a sentence or a poem instead of an abbreviation. A few weeks ago, Tina gave us a number of acrostics in the church bulletin. I thought they were all quite clever so kept them to be used in some of my future messages. Today you will experience the first acrostic from Tina’s great list. Drum roll please –
BIBLE = Believers’ Instructions Before Leaving Earth
What is the justification for this statement? Consider the following from The Most Surprising Bible Statistics and Trends in 2023, just updated in the last month.
1 – The Bible is the best-selling book ever written with well over 5 billion copies sold. That does not include the many copies given away over time. It speaks to the Bible’s ability to transcend language barriers and be accessible to people from all walks of life. It is a reminder of the Bible’s timelessness and its ability to remain relevant and meaningful to people from all cultures and backgrounds.
3 – The Bible was written by around 40 different authors from various walks of life, including, kings, shepherds, and fishermen. This statistic is a testament to the Bible’s remarkable diversity. It demonstrates that the Bible was written by a wide range of people from different backgrounds, each with their own unique perspective. 5 – The Bible has around 1,200 prophesies, many of which have been fulfilled. This statistic is a testament to the Bible’s credibility and accuracy. It shows that the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but a book of prophecies that have been fulfilled. This is an important point to make in a blog post about Bible Statistics, as it demonstrates the Bible’s reliability and trustworthiness.
The Bible has been with us for a very long time! It has withstood the test of time and is still seen today as the greatest book ever written, and read by many more people than any other book ever written! No other book comes close to the truth spoken over time like the Bible has done! You can believe the words in the Bible because they have never been shown to be false! These are the reasons why we should always look to the Bible as Believers’ Instructions Before Leaving Earth.
This topic has been so interesting and informative to me that I am doing a first in my almost 3-year stint of writing the TGIF – I am having a 2-part message where I will continue it again next week with some additional interesting tidbits for you to consider.
