Covenant TGIF Message from Ron

As I thought about what to write this week, my thoughts kept coming back to prayer.  I feel I am praying more this week than maybe any other week in my life.  It seems there is so much to pray for, there are so many needs!  Let me offer a few suggestions for your prayer list this week.

  • Pray for your family – that God will continue to bless them.

James 5:16 – Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.

  • Pray for your Covenant family – especially Carol King, Betty Arnette, and Becky Alexander right now, and that God will continue to bless our church members and friends and Pastor Don.

James 5:14-15 – Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

  • Pray for King and Priscilla Hammond for traveling mercies on Sunday as they drive from Atlanta to Gainesville for their presentation this Sunday afternoon, and for their safe return on Monday.

Philippians 4:6-7 – do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

  • Pray for all the Ukrainian people and that the free world will help them with their humanitarian and war needs to continue repelling the evil Russian army.

Mark 9:29 – And He said to them, “This kind [of demon] cannot come out by anything except prayer.”

  • Pray that our country and the world can once again find God.

Matthew 21:22 – And whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive it all.

  • Pray for yourself – that you will continue to draw closer to Him, that He will forgive your sinful and judgmental ways, that you will follow where He leads you, that you will continue to serve others for Him, and that your light will continue to shine brightly for Him.

Romans 10:9-10 – that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

Ephesians 3:14-19 – For this reason I bend my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner self, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled to all the fullness of God.

This list of suggested prayers is not meant to limit you.  Feel free to add any additional prayers that are on your heart!  As Tina said in her Wednesday message –  Pray!!  Pray!!  Pray!!

I hope to see you in church Sunday morning and for King and Priscilla’s ministry update Sunday afternoon from 4-6 PM at Covenant.  Invite your family and friends to come with you.
