TGIF
This past Tuesday Cindy and I flew to Pennsylvania to visit some dear family members we have not seen in two years due to COVID. Cindy’s Cousin Eric Beshore and his wife Ann went with us because Eric also wanted to see his 94-year old Aunt Thelma. What a special time it was to spend three days there visiting Aunt Thelma, my sister Sandy, brother-in-laws Mike and Bill, and numerous nieces and nephews. In some ways, it was almost like time had stood still for 2 years, our older family members not changing much at all.
Proverbs 17:17 – A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.
The nieces and nephews all were more mature and grown with their children as the children went from toddlers and young children to now active elementary and middle schoolers and even college students and graduates.
Psalm 127:3-5 – Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. 4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. 5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
Proverbs 22:6 – Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
We had a wonderful time catching up with everyone we could see, but we still had some limitations due to the current COVID environment. But we are all so glad we were able to visit once again, hopefully, we can get through this latest COVID problem and put this terrible pandemic behind us once and for all, for family is too precious to not see and interact with.
We have now come back to the DC area where we will now visit again with our children and grandchildren for another 10 days before we return home. That is also such a blessing any time we can be with them. They are growing up so quickly and we enjoy each stage of the grandchildren’s lives that we can see and share.
Proverbs 17:6 – Children’s children are a crown to the aged, and parents are the pride of their children.
I pray for everyone reading this that if you have any family members or dear friends that are like family and you haven’t seen them for a long time due to COVID, that you will make it a focus to see them again when the time is right for you and them. The blessing of re-uniting after a long absence is very precious, I can assure you.
Exodus 20:12 – Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
Colossians 3:20 – Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
We will miss you all the next 2 Sunday’s while we are gone, but also would not trade this time with the grandchildren for anything.
May God bless us all until we can be together again.
