Dear Covenant Family:
A Covenant member recently asked Pastor Don if there was something our church could do to assist Covenant members and associated family and friends with some financial support for food and gas during this most difficult time we are in right now as a country. It turns out that we already have a special account set up for our Pastor to provide some support for anyone in need of some financial assistance. The Trustees have agreed that we expand this program right now to allow Pastor Don to provide some financial assistance for any church member in need or for any request made for someone outside our church who is in real need right now.
Anyone can make a request directly to Pastor Don either in person or by phone at 352-262-5349. That request will be kept between Don and the person making the request. Don will determine if the request is viable and will be able to provide gas cards at two local gas stations or food cards for that can be used at any Publix store. Don will keep the Trustees aware of how the program is progressing so we can make any needed adjustments and add additional funding if needed.
If any members are interested and motivated to contribute to this program, you may put your contribution in the offering plate with a note that the contribution is for the Food / Gas initiative. Any contributions to this initiative, just like to your regular giving and monthly ministries, will be added to your annual charitable donations for 2022.
Covenant Church is glad to be able to help our members and friends during this difficult time in our country. May God continue to bless Covenant Church and its entire family of members and friends.
