This message is an update to the mission/ministry message sent out 2 weeks ago.
Praise God that our members are continuing to support Covenant Church during the coronavirus pandemic that is keeping us apart. This is allowing us to keep up with our mission ministry/support that is a vital part of our church life.
King Ministry:
In an email 2 weeks ago, we announced that our April mission was the King Ministry (also called the Alabaster Project) in Ghana and I included 2 recent newsletters from them. Attached is their latest newsletter just received a few days ago which is itself a great coronavirus lesson for us, from the perspective of a missionary on the other side of the world. May God continue to bless King, his wife, and his missionary team as they continue to do God’s work. Remember that you can contribute to the King ministry throughout May, since we introduced this April mission well into the month of April. You can send a check just for the King ministry or include it with your regular giving check and just include a note for Edwina how much should go for the King Ministry.
Remember to send all contributions to:

Bread of the Mighty Food Bank:
Because of the food needs of our local residents in Alachua County, the Missions Committee decided to make Bread of the Mighty Food Bank our May ministry. Joe has already sent them a check for $500 which would represent Covenant’s contribution to this month’s ministry as they need money to continue feeding the local needy families. However, we will send a second check to them at the end of May also which will include all funds contributed by members this month. So you can send a separate check or include with your regular contribution (include a note as was stated above for the amount of the ministry donation).
Costa Ministry:
The Costa Ministry is the newest Covenant ministry, started last December. These folks are friends of Carl, they visited Covenant, and we decided to support them as well. We will support them later this year but we just received a newsletter from them, so I wanted to share it with you as well so you could see the important work they are also doing in Brazil and Africa.
So you can see that our important mission/ministry work is continuing during this difficult time and we thank you all for your generous contributions to God’s work for those in need. May God continue to bless Covenant Church, its members and their families, and our country and the world!!
