Covenant Message from Ron

I apologize that today’s message is somewhat delayed, but it is for good reason!  We had a snowstorm pop up here in northern Virginia overnight, where we are staying with our daughter’s family right now.  My granddaughters Gentry and Greer could not wait to take their dog, Gus, out to play in the snow.  It was a beautiful snowstorm, with enough snow to completely cover the ground!  Did I also mention that it is also VERY COLD, which is a feature I could have skipped.  But the snow is beautiful, God gave us a beautiful canvas of His world this morning, and my granddaughters were extremely excited not to have school today, with a chance to enjoy their snowstorm with their favorite dog!  I hope you can forgive my late message today!

Below now is my second Advent message from Sarah Young in her devotional titled Jesus Calling For Christmas.

Never take for granted My intimate nearness.  Marvel at the wonder of My continual Presence with you.  Even the most ardent human lover cannot be with you always.  Nor can another person know the intimacies of your heart, mind, and spirit.  I know everything about you – even the number of hairs on your head.  You don’t need to work at revealing yourself to me.

Many people spend a lifetime or a small fortune searching for someone who understands them.  Yet I am freely available to all who call upon My Name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior.  This simple act of faith is the beginning of a lifelong love story.  I, the Lover of your soul, understand you perfectly and love you eternally.

Psalm 145:18 – The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.

Luke 12:7 – “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are numbered.  Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.”

John 1:12 – Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God.

Romans 10:13 – Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

I am adding these final comments for you as you prepare for the coming birth of Jesus.  May God continue your blessing as you prepare for one of the two holiest of times in our annual Christian calendar.

Isaiah 9:6 – For to us a child is born, to us a son is given …. and He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
