Dear Covenant Family:
Covenant had a wonderful Holy Week. We want to thank Don Mason for providing three such meaningful services during this week. We began the week with our Palm Sunday service. We continued on Friday with our Good Friday service. We had 27 folks attend the Good Friday service. Attached is the program for that service. The Scriptural Reference Don used provides the answer to his “Answering a Rhetorical Question” that we are truly saved from our sins by Jesus’ death on the cross. We also had Communion as part of that service, and this service prepared us well for the Easter service.
We had 29 folks attend the Easter service. It was great to have Patsy and Bobby Sutton back with us, we had not seen them in a long time. The bulletin for the Easter service is also attached. Again, Don’s message that “It’s Not the Crime, It’s the Cover Up” is well supported by his scripture. We also sang to Don and JoAnn as their 54th wedding anniversary is this Wednesday, April 7.
Next Sunday, we will have Don Mauldin provide our sermon message. Don has been a long time Pastor in Gainesville having started the Tower Road Baptist Church. He also began the local Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) group and just retired from that position a year ago. Don also served as a Pastor at Covenant in the early 2000s, in his early days of leading FCA. We will also celebrate Covenant’s 34th anniversary next Sunday (official anniversary date is April 17) and we will plan to have a celebration after the service. So we hope you can be there next Sunday to hear Don Mauldin and celebrate with us.
Our ministry this month is the King Ministry in Ghana. We have been supporting this ministry for a number of years now and that ministry continues to grow and expand in drawing their people to Christianity. Attached is their latest newsletter that we get quarterly from them. Please include any donation for this ministry in the offering plate with a note for King Ministry.
Have a blessed week!
Ron
